Sunday School Lesson Series: Faith Begins with Wonder

Faith Begins with Wonder Word of Wonder

Welcome to our Faith Begins with Wonder series!

Try to recall the most breathtaking view of nature you’ve ever witnessed. Maybe you stood at the edge of the vast ocean or marveled at an endless panorama of mountain peaks. Close your eyes and imagine the scene. Let it fill you with wonder—not just because of the beauty of the natural world, but because of the One who made it.

God is majestic and holy, and the earth is full of His glory. But who am I amid the vastness of His creation? Do I matter at all?

I think most people wrestle with those questions at some point. And wonder of all wonders, the God who made the mountains and the seas gives an answer to those who seek Him. It’s found in the pages of Scripture—in God’s big story, which is our story too. We find that God made us and knows us. We find that Jesus loves us and made the way for us to draw near to God. We find that we are never without help in life because the Holy Spirit leads us. We find that because of Jesus, we are children of God.

This series is an invitation to lean into that reality. To claim it. To be defined by it. Faith begins with wonder, and God’s big story is overflowing with it.

You are majestic and holy. Your glory fills me with wonder. You do amazing things.

—Exodus 15:11b
